AHH’s Commitment to Health, Equity, and Empowerment

In light of the transitions this new year brings, we’re taking a moment to reaffirm the mission and guiding principles that inspire and shape our work every day at A Healer’s Hand + The Nest (AHH). These principles—rooted in health, equity, and empowerment—guide how we serve, care, and connect with our community.

Our Mission

We are committed to promoting safety, well-being, and self-determination for every individual we serve—with a special focus on women and pregnant people—who make up the majority of our clientele.

Since our founding, we’ve centered our mission on improving the standard of prenatal and postpartum care. This work is grounded in three key values:

  • Bodily autonomy
  • Education
  • Empowerment

We firmly believe in the right to safe, accessible reproductive healthcare and strive to create an inclusive space where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. It is our hope that these principles will one day guide the world we all share.

Our Guiding Principles

Bodily Autonomy is a Human Right

We are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing therapeutic environment—one that encourages truth, learning, and transformative action. Our goal is to ensure every person in our care feels supported, both during their time with us and beyond.

Health Equity for All

Wellness must be inclusive. Racism, misogyny, ableism, and white supremacy are public health crises that demand urgent action. We stand in solidarity with:

  • Women
  • Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC)
  • The LGBTQIA+ community
  • All individuals impacted by marginalization and injustice

A Zero-Tolerance Policy for Discrimination

Disrespect and discrimination have no place in our healing space. We are deeply committed to maintaining an environment that is safe, affirming, and inclusive for all.

Our Commitment to Action

We recognize that dismantling systemic inequities requires more than words and intention—it demands action, accountability, and advocacy. This is not a short-term goal but a lifelong journey toward growth and progress.

We acknowledge that we will not always get it right but are prepared to:

  • Embrace discomfort
  • Take accountability
  • Keep learning and improving

We believe meaningful change happens when we move together—with humility and purpose.

Thank You

Thank you for being part of this journey and for trusting us to hold space for you and your beauty. Together, we can make a difference and move toward a future grounded in collective care, justice, and empowerment.

We appreciate your understanding, your trust, and your continued support in building a more compassionate world.
